Budget Minded Quality: 2014 Hyundai Accent GLS sedan

Since its current-generation introduction in April 2011, the Hyundai Accent sedan has delivered extraordinary value by blending utility, style, performance and class-above features in a compelling package. Now in its third year of production, the 2014 model-year Accent sedan includes more standard equipment and adds new style and convenience features.

Delivering a higher level of value and sophistication in the small car class, inexpensive does not mean cheap when it comes to the Hyundai Accent sedan. One-touch triple turn signal, sliding sun visors and a driver’s blind spot mirror are now standard for added safety and convenience. Stylish projector headlights with LED accents join a driver’s auto-up power window and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel on the Premium Package equipped model.
Power for the front-drive Accent sedan is generated by a 1.6L four- cylinder engine joined to a six-speed manual gearbox. A six-speed automatic transmission is an available option. Accent's comfortable ride and responsive handling is due to its control hardware. A front MacPherson strut suspension features coil springs and an anti-roll bar and is coupled to a torsion beam rear suspension with coil springs. Gas shock absorbers hold down the four corners.
Inside the cabin features an attractive arrangement of interior materials and well thought out array of displays and controls. The driver enjoys good outward visibility while presented with a comprehensive array of gauges, speedometer, tachometer, odometer, water temperature and fuel level. Four adults will find the seating comfortable both in front and rear. Even the rear storage area is pleasantly finished, with lots of cargo space for a subcompact car.

Impressively equipped, standard equipment includes tilt steering wheel, cabin air filter, driver and front passenger vanity mirrors, power steering, dual remote mirrors, XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service; auxiliary input jack, variable intermittent windshield wipers, electric rear window defroster with timer, eight-way adjustable driver's seat with built-in folding armrest, digital clock, remote fuel filler door release, remote rear trunk release, front seatback pockets and 60/40 split fold-down rear seat with a folding center armrest with dual cupholders.
