Known popularly for being the home of the Alamo, San Antonio is a major city, and the third largest in the state of Texas. Between 2000 and 2010, San Antonio was the fastest growing city of the ten largest cities in the United States. The area is distinctive for its many preserved Spanish colonial missions, which have had a National Park dedicated to them.

Another popular attraction is the Natural Bridge Caverns, an underground network of caves and rock formations.
San Antonio is served by an extensive highway network with a radial design, ringed by Interstate 410. Along with Houston and Dallas, the city forms the Texas Triangle, a major urban region. Compared to similarly-sized cities, San Antonio’s traffic is relatively favorable to commuters, so many people live in the city’s suburbs.
