Style, Value & Dependability: 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SUV
The new Mitsubishi Outlander Sport adds a number of exterior and interior enhancements for 2016. The updated Mitsubishi Outlander Sport enters the new model year with a revamped exterior and a number of interior improvements. Most noticeably, the exterior receives Mitsubishi's new "Dynamic Shield" front design concept. New 18-inch alloy wheel design, lip wheel moldings and power folding side door mirrors with turn indicator lamps contribute to the sleek new design. The 2016 model year keeps its aerodynamic, low-drag body design that supports the Outlander Sport's fuel efficiency. Exterior colors include: Labrador Black, Octane Blue, Mercury Gray, Quartz Brown, Cool Silver, Rally Red and Diamond White Pearl.
Available in ES, SE, SEL and GT trim levels, the standard base engine for the Outlander Sport is 2.0L four-cylinder engine. Torque is communicated to the street through a five-speed manual gearbox. The more powerful 2.4L MIVEC four-cylinder engine comes standard with the SE, SEL and GT trim levels.
The automaker’s INVECS – III – CVT (continuously variable) automatic transmission is standard with the 2.4L four-cylinder engine and optional with the base 2.0L four-cylinder motor. Also available in each trim level is Mitsubishi's All-Wheel Control (AWC) System.
Control hardware for the Outlander Sport consists of traditional MacPherson struts in the front with a stabilizer bar working with a multi-link configuration at the rear with a stabilizer bar.
