There is something perfectly picturesque and even invigorating about gliding through the rolling hills and twisting highways that pepper and populate the gorgeous state of Arkansas. If you've never taken the time to simply drive through Arkansas, you owe it to yourself to pull out a map (forego GPS here, it'll feel more adventurous), plot a course, fill up your tank and prepare to enjoy one of the most memorable drives you'll have. The trees, the hills, the sky, it makes for an endlessly compelling environment though which to weave your car. Doubly so if you're lucky enough to embark on this adventure in the fall months as the leaves turn into wonderful shades of red, brown, yellow and orange. The average driver in Arkansas logs an estimated 13,640 miles per year in their vehicles. That's a lot of miles for such a small state, but with vistas like the ones you can find here who can blame them.
If your vehicle isn't in shape for that kind of an adventure, no worries. There are nearly 2,000 automobile dealerships across the state ready to provide used and new cars for sale. There are some 2 million registered cars already on the road, so finding a suitable vehicle shouldn't be too hard to do. And if you truly feel the need for speed, then Arkansas has got you covered with two prominent race tracks, 67 Speedway and Batesville Motor Speedway, the latter of which specializes in races with street stock, IMCA modded and Colt Hobby Stock cars.
Just be sure that when you're in Arkansas, embarking on your road trip adventure, don't blare your car horn where ice-cold beverages or sandwiches are served after 9 p.m. That's against the law.
